Privacy

Money Compass reads the statements and pay stubs you upload so it can show where your money goes and plan your next steps. This page says what we keep, how it is protected, and who else sees any of it.
What we store
- Your email address, to sign you in. If you use Google, we only ask Google for your email address.
- The files you upload, and the transactions, pay details, debts and profile numbers read from them or typed in.
- Plans and research the app writes for you, your settings, and a monthly summary of your numbers.
- Passkeys you add: only the public half. The private half never leaves your device.
How it is protected
- Every account has its own encryption key. Your uploaded files, transaction descriptions, debt names, file names and anything you write in your own words are encrypted with it.
- Original files are deleted 30 days after they are read, unless you choose to keep them. The transactions read from them stay.
- Everything is sent over HTTPS. Sign-in uses one-time email links, Google or passkeys. There are no passwords to leak.
AI
- AI reads statement PDFs and photos, sorts transactions the rules can't, and writes your plans. Requests go through OpenRouter, only to providers that don't store or train on the data.
- Names, account and card numbers and addresses are removed from text before AI sees it. Photos and scanned PDFs can't be cleaned first; the upload screen says so, and a CSV or text PDF avoids it.
- The coach and research see summary numbers only, never your transactions, names or account details.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data, share it for advertising, or use trackers or analytics.
- The only cookies are the ones that keep you signed in.
Your choices
- Export my data on Settings downloads everything we hold about you as one file.
- Delete everything on Settings deletes your account, all your data, your files and your encryption key right away. It can't be undone.
